En el mes de diciembre no tendremos la reunión mensual de nuestra Escuela por coincidir el último martes del mes con las vacaciones navideñas. En su lugar se proponen estas dos actividades para dicho mes.
- Presentación de la propuesta de participación de la Escuela en una actividad del CEMU https://www.cemu.es , con Josetxu Linaza, Antonio Capelao y Jorge Raedó, en la mesa redonda sobre ciudades educativas del congreso que se celebrará en el CEMU del 12 al 14 de diciembre de 2023.

El día 13 de diciembre en un intervalo de una hora entre las 16:00 a 19:00 se realizará una mesa redonda con asistencia de tres de las iniciativas que promueven el congreso:
1º Colombia: Benposta Nación de Muchachos (Bogotá) https://benpostacolombia.org/

Participarán por parte de la Escuela en AE-IUCE-UAM:
- Jorge Raedó (Zaragoza, España, 1969). Vive en Bogotá, Colombia, desde 2015. Osa Menor (www.osamenor.com) es su investigación y práctica en educación de arte y arquitectura para la infancia y juventud desde 2008. Ideó y es director artístico de “Ludantia. I Bienal Internacional de Educación en Arquitectura para la Infancia y Juventud” (Pontevedra, Bogotá, Lima, Quito, Puebla, Berlín. 2018-19). Director científico de “Anidar” (Argentina, desde 2016). Miembro de la Escuela en Arquitectura Educativa de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (desde 2017). Ideó y dirigió: “Amag! Revista de Arquitectura para Niños” (España, 2012-17). Director educativo de la asociación: “Rakennetaan kaupunki!” (Finlandia, 2011-15). Ideó y dirigió: “Qué es Arquitectura?” (España, 2008-11). - Antonio Capelao: De nacionalidad británica, nacida en Mozambique y de origen portugués, se formó como arquitecto (Architectural Association y East London University) y ha trabajado en arquitectura en Londres, Ahmedabad (BK Doshi – Pritzker 2018 y RIBA Royal Gold Medal 2022) e Imadol (Nepal). - Como moderadores estarán Josetxu Linaza, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid: Doctor en Psicología por la Universidad de Oxford, bajo la dirección del Prof. Jerome S. Bruner. DESARROLLO DEL ACTO:
- La sesión será retrasmitida en directo desde la CEMU para permitir la participación de las personas que no estén en Leganés (Madrid). La sesión será grabada y estará a disposición en Streaming.
- La mesa estará compuesta por cuatro expertos que se conectarán on line: dos a propuesta de la Escuela en Arquitectura Educativa (Jorge Raedó y Antonio Capelao), uno por la entidad colombiana, otro por la entidad de Estados Unidos de Norteamérica (pendientes de confirmar). También contará con la moderación en directo de Santiago Atrio y Josechu Linaza.
- PREGUNTAS: Posibles preguntas de las cuales se elegirán tres.
- ¿Qué tipo de urbanismo ha inspirado o puede inspirar la propuesta de una ciudad para y desde la participación de los niños y las niñas?
- ¿Qué tipo de arquitectura ha inspirado o puede inspirar la propuesta de una ciudad para y desde la participación de los niños y las niñas?
- ¿Qué tipo de movimiento artístico ha inspirado o puede inspirar la propuesta de una ciudad para y desde la participación de los niños y las niñas?
- En una ciudad de los niños, ¿debe existir una constitución propia en cuya elaboración participen la infancia y la adolescencia?
- Se inicia la mesa con la participación especial de Alberto Muñiz Sánchez (Tío Alberto), su fundador, que anteriormente había sido durante 15 años arquitecto y director técnico y artístico de Benposta, y de su espectáculo-mensaje itinerante «Los Muchachos». Cada una de las tres preguntas es contestada por tío Alberto (5 minutos). Dado su estado de salud, su participación estará grabada. Tras su intervención dos de los ponentes intervendrán complementando las palabras del fundador de la CEMU. (10 minutos)
- Tras los 50 minutos empleados en comentar las tres preguntas, se abrirá un turno de participación que durará 10 minutos.

Boys Towns of the World: More than One Hundred Years of Stories of Life
On December 13th, an hour-long round table will be held between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm (Madrid time) during the first international congress of Boys Towns of the World, attended by representatives of the organizations promoting the event:

The event will be coordinated by the School of Educational Architecture IUCE from Universidad Autónoma of Madrid. On behalf of this institution, will participate:
- Jorge Raedó (Zaragoza, Spain, 1969). Lives in Bogotá, Colombia, since 2015. Osa Menor (www.osamenor.com) is his research and practice in art education and architecture for children and youth since 2008. - The moderators will be Josetxu Linaza, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid: Ph.D. in Psychology from Oxford University, under the direction of Prof. Jerome S. - Asociación Cultural Padre Silva (Galicia). Xosé Manuel Cid Fernández, Full Professor at the University of Vigo. Currently Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Work. Coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Education and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Vigo. A long research career in the History of Education in Galicia, and in socio-educational fields, being director of 18 doctoral dissertations and author of articles, chapters, and books in these fields, being able to highlight Adolescencias invisibles (1920) in collaboration with Deibe Fernández Simo. Responsible for the Pedagogy section of the Vicente Risco Foundation. Honorary Member of the Association of Social Educators of Galicia. Peña Novo Award in 2016, for a trajectory of defense of the Galician language and culture in academic activity. Member of other associations that, in addition to Ponte nas Ondas, are interested in pedagogical renewal and friendly relations between Galicia and Portugal: Nova Escola Galega, Grupo de Educadores Pola Paz Galego-Portuguese, Asociación de Amigos do Couto Mixto.
- Boys Town (Nebraska, United States of America). Dr. Patrick Tyler, Senior Director of Boys Town Research Center, has almost 30 years of clinical, administrative, and research experience in residential and community-based treatment services for children and families. He earned his doctorate from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in Education with an emphasis in emotional and behavioral disorders and is an Independently Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Nebraska. Dr. Tyler has been at Boy Town for 22 years and has served in several clinical and research roles at Boys Town, including Clinical Director in the Family Home Program. His research experience includes both neuroimaging and applied research at Boys Town with a specific interest in translating research into practice to improve the design, implementation, and dissemination of effective treatment interventions for children and families.
Scott Hartman is currently serving as Sr. Director of National Community Services at Boys Town overseeing Boys Town’s National Training, Boys Town Press, and Boys Town National Hotline. A graduate of Ball State (Indiana) University, Scott began his career as a classroom teacher. He acquired his Master’s Degree in Human Service Administration from National-Luis University (Wheaton, Illinois). He has worked with youth, caregivers, and educators for over 30 years serving as a teacher in Indiana, Family-Teacher, Education Trainer, Youth Safety Auditor, Sr. Director at Boys Town, and Director of Residential Care at Mooseheart in Batavia, Illinois.
- Benposta Nación de Muchachos (Colombia). Santiago Osorio, an architect with a degree from Universidad del Valle de Cali and a master’s degree in the design of work, commercial and educational spaces from IE University in Madrid and the Helen Hamlyn Center for Design at the Royal College of Art in London. He teaches at the School of Architecture at Universidad del Valle and is co-founder of the leading architecture firm SOM Studio Arquitectos, located in Colombia. In his leadership position at SOM Studio, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to social projects, actively collaborating with foundations such as «Let’s Build My School» in the design and construction of a school in Senegal, as well as with «Casa Hogar Alemania» and «Benposta» in the creation of an educational citadel in Istmina, Chocó, Colombia, standing out for his focus on social and community impact through architecture.
STRUCTURE OF THE EVENT:
- The session will be broadcast live through an online platform from the CEMU auditorium to allow the participation of people who are not in Leganés (Madrid). The session will be recorded and will be available later through digital platforms.
- The panel will be composed of five experts who will connect online: two proposed by the School of Educational Architecture (Jorge Raedó and Antonio Capelao), one by the Colombian NGO Benposta Nación de Muchachos, another by the U.S. organization Boys Town, and another by the Cultural Association Padre Silva of Orense (to be confirmed). It will also be moderated live by Santiago Atrio and Josetxu Linaza.
- QUESTIONS. Possible topics for discussion from which only three will be chosen:
- What type of urbanism has inspired or can inspire the proposal of a city for and with the participation of children and youth?
- What type of architecture has inspired or can inspire the proposal of a city for and with the participation of children and youth?
- What type of artistic movement has inspired or can inspire the proposal of a city for and with the participation of children and youth?
- In a children’s city, should there be a constitution in whose elaboration children and adolescents participate?
- The round table begins with the special participation of Alberto Muñiz Sánchez (Tío Alberto), founder of CEMU, who had previously been the architect and technical and artistic director of Benposta and its traveling show-message «Los Muchachos» for 15 years (https://www.edicionescemu.com/tio-alberto-nuestro-arquitecto/).
Each of the three questions is answered by Uncle Alberto (5 minutes maximum). His intervention will be recorded so that his answers can be produced with images of CEMU to illustrate the explanations about his urban and architectural proposal. After his intervention, the speakers will have the opportunity to add their views to the selected topic (10 minutes). We propose taking turns with the six panelists and allowing them to choose which of the three topics they wish to comment on.
- After the 50 minutes used to discuss the three topics, there will be a round of participation from the event attendees that will last about 10 minutes (there will be two breaks of one minute each).
